Super Eagles Keeper Leaves Hapoel Jerusalem, Eyes Cyprus Move

Super Eagles goalkeeper Adebayo Adeleye has penned a heartfelt farewell message to Hapoel Jerusalem F.C. as his contract with the Israeli club comes to an end in June 2024. Adeleye is reportedly close to finalizing a move to Cypriot club Enosis Neon Paralimni, which is managed by Israeli coach Ori Guttman.



Adeleye joined Hapoel Jerusalem in 2018 from B United Football Academy in Lagos, Nigeria. Initially making his mark with the U19 squad, Hapoel Katamon, he progressed to make his senior debut in August 2019 against Hapoel Rishon leZion. Throughout his tenure, he played a crucial role in Hapoel Jerusalem's promotion to the Israeli Premier League, recording 19 clean sheets that contributed significantly to their second place finish in Liga Leumit.



In his farewell message on social media, Adeleye expressed gratitude for the support and motivation he received from the club, highlighting the positive impact it had on his development and career.



A big thank you to Hapoel Jerusalem for your support and motivation, A good 6 years with the club wasn’t a waste thanks for encouraging me to keep striving for the best you’ll forever remain in my heart @HapoelJLMfc, Adeleye wrote.



Aside from his club achievements, Adeleye has represented Nigeria at various age levels, earning his senior national team debut in a 3-2 victory over Sierra Leone in 2023.
